Eldorado Canyon Mine

Eldorado Canyon has a long and sordid history. This is an area that was rife with lawlessness and murder and at one time it harbored Civil War deserters.
But all this cannot be seen anymore and what is left is a ghost town and old mining encampment.
In the middle of the Eldorado Canyon east of Nelson lies the Techatticup Mine. it’s a very popular spot for people that are into imagery in photographing things and it’s a hot spot for adventurers also.
There are a lot of different areas and things to explore in Eldorado Canyon. There’s many different mine tours and hiking excursion tours that you can take into the canyon to really get a feel of wild Nevada.
Back in the old days gold is what brought people to the canyon in the canyon in the 1700 ‘s unsuccessfully. 75 years later Prospectors using more modern methods were able to uncover a lot of the gold extracted it. The canyon became wild west scene from the movies at this point. Gold fueled gun fights became commonplace, murders and skirmishes flared up all over camp El Dorado. But the blood of Civil War deserters and minors wasn’t the only blood spilled in Eldorado Canyon because the canyon also was home to the notorious Renegade Indians Ahvote and Queho. This Rich history of the Eldorado Canyon mine can actually be seen on foot. You can go out there and take tours of it and actually stand in the places where all this crazy murder and lawlessness took place.
